The lumbar spine, three ways in. Posterior, anterior, lateral.
Three lumbar models on one base. Lumbar Posterior for endoscopic and microscopic decompression, L2 to S1, with eight herniations and a stenosis to clear. Lumbar Anterior Lateral for ALIF, OLIF and LLIF, L3 to S1. Lumbar Posterior Lateral for ATP and transpsoas approaches, L2 to L5.

See, decide, move.

The lumbar spine model is where most spine training days happen.
Decompression, fusion, lateral access. The cases a rep sees first and a resident sees most.
Launch your cage on the case your reps will support in the OR.
TLIF and PLIF on the posterior model. ALIF, OLIF and LLIF with your plates and screws on the Anterior Lateral. Lateral access on the Posterior Lateral. The rep and the surgeon place the same implant on the same spondylolisthesis before the first live case.
How OEMs use RealSpineEight herniations, two per level, and a stenosis that has to be cleared.
Endoscopic decompression, uniportal or biportal, with irrigation running and bleeding to manage. Every resident works the same L4 to L5 stenosis, and the one who missed the step works it again on the next herniation.
How programs use RealSpineThree lumbar models. Each one complete on its own.
Every lumbar model ships with its own base and works independently. Lumbar Anterior Lateral shares its base with Cervical Anterior, so a program that runs both buys one base. Full Modular and Deformity are separate products in the same RealSpine family.
Replace the cartridge, keep the base
After the last herniation, a new cartridge goes on the same base. The base stays, the anatomy renews. See the Full Modular simulator
Fluid Pumping System
Bleeding starts on cue and resets for the next attempt on the Lumbar Posterior. Water irrigation for endoscopic work on both posterior models.
RealImaging when the C arm is not in the room
Real time, radiation free visualization of anatomy and instrument position on an iPad, compatible with all three lumbar models. See RealImaging
RealSpine is an excellent training model. It feels like operating a real patient.

Questions we get about the lumbar models.
Which lumbar model do we need?
Pick by approach. Programs that train all three run all three cartridges on one base.
How many cases fit on one Lumbar Posterior?
Eight herniations, two per level, plus a canal stenosis at L4 to L5. Realists rates it at up to eight training sessions on one simulator.
Does it work with endoscopy and irrigation?
Yes. Lumbar Posterior is built for uniportal and biportal endoscopy with water irrigation and bleeding management. Lumbar Posterior Lateral also supports water irrigation.
Can we place our own cages, plates and screws?
Yes. TLIF and PLIF cages on the posterior models, ALIF, OLIF and LLIF cages with plates and screws on the Anterior Lateral, drilling and screw fixation throughout, with your instruments.
Can we use fluoroscopy or navigation?
Yes. All three models are compatible with X ray and fluoroscopy and with external navigation. RealImaging Lite and Advanced provide radiation free visualization when imaging is not in the room.
Eight herniations on one cartridge. Try all of them.
